We all have our own idea of what paradise should be. Back in the early 80’s Jimmy was in Tahiti where he wrote a song called “ one particular harbour”. One of my favourites. The song incorporates his unique “ Buffett sound” with some Tahitian lyrics which refer to nature. . Basically the song describes a life spent acquiring material wealth and as the singer approaches the end of his life he laments that he has missed out on the things that really matter “ times are tough hell I got too much stuff, can’t explain the likes of me. But there’s this one particular harbour so far but yet so near, where the children play on the shore each day and I finally disappear”.
My own “ one particular harbour “is without question a beach in The Barbados possibly accompanied by a fish cutter ( sandwich) maybe a few fish cakes, a beer and a ton of music while sitting on the beach enjoying the view, water, waves and sand. Nothing else matches it.
So while you are busy grinding it out in your daily routine take a few minutes to enjoy what really matters to you. Jimmy always said if there’s a heaven, mine includes a beach. Wise words Jimmy. Now if only the Barbados had a thriving bbq scene!
